Contract Chef for Menu Development

We seek a creative chef for a temporary contract position to design and develop a healthy food menu for our fast-casual restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a passion for clean eating, experience in menu creation, and the ability to balance flavor, nutrition, and cost efficiency. 

• Design a simple, nutrition focused menu featuring a balance of customizable proteins, carbohydrates, and greens. 
• Develop recipes that are scalable, cost-effective, and suitable for high-volume service.
• Provide detailed recipe documentation, including ingredient lists, preparation methods, and nutritional information. 
• Collaborate with management to ensure the menu aligns with the brand vision and company mission. 
• Prioritize sustainable, high quality, locally sourced ingredients as able. 
• Following the completion of the main menu, be prepared to create a separate "Cheat Day" menu that aligns with management's vision. 
• Be prepared for taste tests and feedback to refine dishes. 
• Ensure compliance with food safety and health regulations. 

*Chef will have a predetermined budget to shop for ingredients and will execute menu creation in a contracted kitchen. 

• Passion for health and proper nutrition. 
• Experience as a chef, preferably in a fast casual or healthy dining establishment. 
• Excellent pallet, able to use creative flair to spice up simple ingredients. 
• Strong knowledge of nutritional principles and healthy cooking techniques (Nutrition Certification Preferred) 
• Culinary degree not required, however is highly preferred. 
• Experience or education with food cost management, ingredient sourcing, etc. 

*This is a temporary contract position with potential for future collaboration or full-time employment based on project success.
